  • Latest Commission

I recently finished up this commissioned painting for a family in Pennsylvania. They had taken some GoPro photos of their children while on vacation and contacted me about a possible collaboration. After many edits and merging two of the photos, we were able to arrive at a pose that feels youthful, playful and lovingly connected. It was a pleasure to create this special piece.

  • Downtime and experimentation in the studio

For the first time in over 7 years, I do not have an exhibition scheduled. At first it felt odd and concerning not to have an “event” to work toward. But it has been cathartic to take time away from the studio and give other aspects of my life priority. It has given me the inspiration to experiment when I do get back to painting. In this recent piece entitled, “Fleur-de-Lis”, I incorporated a stenciled pattern that weaves through the composition. The pose of the figure and stencil remind me of the flour-de-lis, a symbol of purity, light and virtue.
