The Attleboro Arts Museum is hosting a unique invitational exhibit this week entitled, Distinguishing Features, inspired by the novel, The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears. The idea is to do a "portrait" of someone without looking at any reference. A most difficult assignment, if you tend to work realistically like I do.
Eighteen artists will be submitting portraits done from memory. I am excited to see this show and each artist's interpretation! This is "Queen of Hearts" (16" x 24", pastel), a portrait from memory of my maternal grandmother, Marie Baker, on display through September 30, 2016 at the Attleboro Arts Museum, 86 Park St., Attleboro, MA.
